By Charles Jiduwah
In my disapproval to this devilish Act, I submit that as a Nation, Nigeria must separate religion from state, and allow human right to take its course of full application.
That President Goodluck Jonathan, a man so learned up to doctoral level would give his presidential assent to an evil Act seeking to criminalise people not because they have committed a crime against anyone, but freely choosing who they want as partner is a very stupid move in 2014.
The Nigerian nation is presently submerged in different rivers of corruption, threatening to overflow the very essence of our national bank, yet the Government did not deem it fit to enforce, strengthen or pass legislation that will clamp the overgrown wings of this monster, instead they seek a more politically correct diversion, a route some of them walk in their nights.
Nigeria is a signatory to the United Nations Convention and Africa Charter on Human Rights which includes universally agreed right to private life and freedom of association. These rights are currently under threat in Nigeria today. We cannot allow this madness to stand.
Let me send a notice to the Nigerian Government that I will challenge this Human Right infringement in court of law. It certainly will not stand. This is not a case for LGBT community alone, its a case that borders on peoples right to live freely and peacefully in a country they call theirs.
Let the government do the right thing by making amends before its too late.

Nwa nne, that was very well

Nwa nne, that was very well stated. I couldn't have put it any better myself.
It's very common in our society for anyone who advocates for gay rights to be accused of being gay themself as some of the commentators on here have accused the Charles Jiduwah.
If you truly believe in human rights, you can't pick and choose which group to advocate for. Be it the disabled, women, a particular ethnic group, albinos etc. A truly great nation is judged on it's greatness by the way it protects it's minorities and Nigeria has woefully failed this test

This whole gay debate seem to have completely passed me by. I have to say I totally lost
interest when I failed to understand how the percecution and
imprisonment of gays is going to solve the Boko haram issue or reduce
the high unemployment rate facing our youths.
Maybe na me be the moomu. I assume that when we've locked up all the gays the high crime rate in Nigeria will be highly reduced and there will be no more armed robberies and kidnappings. If any of those that are feeling victorious and euphoric on the signing of this bill can help explain to me how it's passage can help improve the dire electricity situation or improve schools and hospitals may be I might join in the elation and gladly celebrate the signing of this bill.
As a heterosexual Nigerian male who is very confident & secure in my sexuality, I do not and will never regard a homosexual Nigerian male or female less of a Nigerian than me

I'M SORRY TO DISAPPOINT THE WRITER. THOUGH WE HAVE SEEN MANY
PEOPLE CRITICIZING THE GOVERNMENT BLINDLY JUST FOR CRITICISM SAKE ON
SEVERAL ISSUES, THE ISSUE OF GAY CANNOT SELL IN THE HEARS OF MAJORITY OF
THE GOOD PEOPLE OF NIGERIA.
NIGERIANS ARE UNITED ON THIS ISSUE.BE IT HAUSA,IBO AND YORUBA. WE ALL STAND BEHIND THE GOVERNMENT AT LEAST ON THIS ONE ISSUE, BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT WE ALL BELIEVE IN.WE ARE NOT USA WHERE MORALITY HAS LOST ITS VALUE.
NIGERIAN MAY HAVE ISSUES UNRESOLVED LIKE CORRUPTION AND SECURITY. BUT THIS DOES NOT START WITH THE CURRENT ADMINISTRATION. AND WE BELIEVE THAT WITH GOD NIGERIA WILL EXCEL.ACADEMIC ATTAINMENT DOES NOT/SHOULD NOT MAKE A MAN AN ANIMAL.
THANK YOU FOR HAVING THE INTEREST OF THE NATION AT HEART. BUT I THINK YOU ARE WRONG TO THINK DECISION AGAINST GAY IS A DEMONIC DECISION. WE BEG TO DIFFER. RATHER IT IS A GODLY DECISION, WELCOMED BY ALL. AND IT HAS COME TO STAND FOR ALL INCLUDING YOU.

I am very much supprised that some people still stand up to talk
of human rights when it comes to subjects of being gay. We are AFRICANS
and I know not of a culture in AFRICA that stands for or supports this.
In trying to be modern, we must be careful "NOT TO SPIT ON THE GRAVES
OF OUR ANCESTORS." Supporting gays is a sure way of doing this.
For those who are clamouring for the repeal of this law, I ask them to go to their village square and start to gather support for this fight. If they succeed, then they can pursue the fight, else they should shut up.
My prayer for those that are gay, is that "Their children will bring their gay partners and introduce to them. Amen". Then we wait and see what becomes of their GRAND-CHILDREN.... oh sorry, no grandchildren because their children are gay. Gays don't give birth, do they?

does United Nations Convention and Africa Charter on Human Rights
laws greater than the universal law? is man wiser than God the creator
of all things that said no man should commit such abomination, leaving
example thru sodom and gomorrah. check it charles if your father and
mother did not get involve in heterogeneous union, how will they give
birth to you? and if everybody is getting involved in homosexual union,
how will reproduction of human race continue and what children will the
homosexual adopt? there is limitation to human rights and God's law
supercede all human laws. If those who practice this abominations are
not sick in the head, must nigeria follow the practices of usa? is she
not a sovereign nation who has right to her own laws. if usa has become
the abode of devils and demonic children, we don't want that to be
replicated here. SO WHOSOEVER WANT TO BE A CURSE AND AN ABOMINATION
SHOULD RENOUNCE CITIZENSHIP OF NIGERIA AND GO TO WHERE HOMOSEXUAL
MARRIAGE IS LEGALISE.

You definitely should know that it cannot work in Nigeria. This
is not America where gay rights is human rights. There are still couple
of states in US that opposes same sex marriage. This is social
issues, cultures factor and also religion play huge role for it. US
should leave Nig alone on this issue. Its none of their business.

Mr. Alfa Nla (Big Imam?)
Sir, the issues facing the western world do not begin to compare with the evils facing us in Africa and Nigeria especially. What do we take that to be a warning from God for?
BY all means insist on not recognising gay marriage, but must you jail someone for his choice to associate with whomsoever he pleases? Its not the ban on gay marriage that we deplore its the wickedness of the punishment that comes with admitting to being in a gay relationship and for 'promoting' homosexuality.
It's their turn today, it might be our turn tomorrow sir. Remember already opposition politicians are no longer free to meet if the president disapproves of their cause. The IGP is there to stop any political meeting the president disapproves of. WE are in a dictatorship whether we like it or not sadly.

Even if you're straight, you can now be arrested and tortured
into confessing that you are part of a gay organization. God help you if
you're not rich enough to bribe police. I'm sure they're just licking
their lips at how they can use it to pad their wallets during Christmas
or Sallah.
Foolish hypocrites! Why didn't you go all the way and ban premarital sex while you were at it? A man rapes a woman and he is let go because he is a chief. Meanwhile, speaking out for equal protection for homosexual couples will get you jail time.
Congratulations, you just signed away the pretend democracy we had. Enjoy being raped by legal system. You will learn, the hard way, why older, more stable democracies already realized.
I say this, by the way, as a straight Christian who personally has a distaste for homosexuality.

Desist from gay act or perish

According to both the holy Quran and the Bible, the people of
prophet Lot were destroyed by the Almighty God due to same sex marriage.
If not that the current gay countries can not reason well, they should
have known that God has already started giving them series of warnings
like severe ice rain, wild fires, severe flooding, and strong winds like
typhoon and others. Mind you, all these are just warning signs compared
to what will eventually happen to any country or individual that failed
to desist from this shameful and destructible act.
Nigerians are complaining
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Jan, 14 2014, 9:01PM.
@Anonymous, Nigerians are complaining. I am Nigerian, I am
straight and I am complaining. The majority are not complaining because
this is something that affects only the minority. Besides, life is so
hard in Nigeria, thanks to the politicians, that an average Nigerian
feels like they have a bigger fish to fry. Where will the next meal come
from? As an African who has lived most of his life in the white man’s
world, I know what it feels like to be a minority. Protection of the
minority is a good attribute of a society. I have heard the gays argue
that homosexuality is not a lifestyle choice, but a natural human
attribute, that they haven’t chosen to be gay. You and I cannot dispute
that, we are not gay. So, why can’t we just let them be? What have they
ever done to you and me?

You can take it to which ever court you want even challenge the law
citing article 8 of ECHR we don't give a damn. I advise you to leave

labour. That will be subjected to if you escape lynching. Fag.

We have seen the damages that tha gay people have done in the
west, trying to desex everybody, if you are not gay, you won't be
gainfully employed there, they are so obsessed with homoseuality that
nothing more is important to the elites than to undo the work of nature
and God and lead people to their Luciferean doctrine and make everybody
gay. Question is, why the obsession with homosexuality?

Romans 1:25-28 They exchanged
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on Jan, 14 2014, 1:01PM.
Romans 1:25-28
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator–who is forever praised. Amen.
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.
